John Webber & Council Leader, Ann De Vecchi, survey the site of a proposed extension to the conservation area.
As well as having a constituency party to support the work of all our councillors and MP, the Liberal Democrats also maintain 'branches' that work in specific areas of the constituency to promote aims and ideals of the party.
The town of Lewes has a dedicated branch that works to support our Town and District councillors and to keep in touch with local people in order to respond effectively to their concerns.
The branch meets regularly (see forthcoming events for next meeting) to discuss the latest issues affecting the town and how best the local Lib Dem party can work to address these issues.
The Chair of Lewes branch is John Webber who would be delighted to hear from anybody interested in the work of the Liberal Democrats locally. Anyone can attend a branch meeting to get an idea of what we do, and all are more than welcome as we are constantly gaining new members and activists.
