The Phoenix Centre in Lewes is just one of the locations ESCC are consulting on closing as part of their efforts to close a £55m hole in their funding. We oppose the need to cut services for the most vulnerble in our society.

Lib Dem MP and Councillors join withe members of the public outside the Phoenix Centre in Lewes to protest the closure of the service.

ESCC are consulting on £4m of cuts to services; from respite care for our older residents, day care for adults with learning difficulties, to services for those recovering for alcohol or drug addiction. This includes the closing of venues like the Phoenix Centre in Lewes, and Milton Grange in Eastbourne.

We the undersigned oppose cuts that will fall on the most vulnerable in our society, cuts that will make hard lives unbearable, and we ask ESCC to reject these proposals and withdraw the consultation.
